It's 2am. Your body's beat, and your mind restless running around the numerous things you could've done with your time than waste it with friends. All that time spent burning your own brain cells and wasting your money on junk food, you ask yourself, "What am I doing here?"
If you found your way to this article, it's most likely that you've been in this position numerous times. It's too common. NOT having these thoughts come at you every now and then is possibly more concerning. Times like these bring us to questioning those we might do wasteful things with.. Whether or not they're the right people for us. Whether or not they're good people at all! Obviously it's impossible to speak for every situation but even so, the first person we ought to look at in each case is ourselves. As arguable a statement as it shows to be, I've come to find a lot of truth in the saying that you can tell a bunch by looking at someone's friends. Differences are in everyone but what a person likes, what they listen to, how they spend their time. These things can all be found in a person's friend group. So, if you can choose to question someone close to you, who was doing the same thing as you, you might also find that it would be worth your time to question yourself as well. Not to be devil's advocate, some people deserve to be outgrown but we waste a lot of time focusing on exterior sources. Maybe your crew isn't so bad, just comfortable. Probably sad and looking for ways to distract themselves. It truly can go lot of ways. Not everyone is bound to have the same resolve to get things done and not everyone has to. If you do, then put time into expressing that resolve rather than blaming others for your sitting on it. Lead by example. In the midst of your change and improvements, your friends will stay your friends if they're meant to. There's really no need to worry whether or not you're in the wrong place or around the wrong people. True presency is acceptance of yourself and everything around you. When you focus on you, all these answers come to light. Allow them to.
